MASTERmax – Most Advanced System of Recycling

The only tilting rotary furnace available worldwide which permits every kind of slag operations, conventionally fluid or dry low salt. A fully automated recycling solution also for contaminated in house and purchased scrap (batches from 6 to 25 tonnes).

Advantages of a Single source service provider :

  • Highly user friendly because of automated process management.
  • Reproducible workflows because of innovative and proven sensor technology
  • Consistent high utility because of unique definition between metal and slag phases.
  • Reduced energy costs
  • Switch between liquid and solid salt operation possible as required
  • High plant and operating reliability
  • Short-term amortisation
  • Tilting Rotary Furnaces

The standard for high output and complete latitude in the selection of the respective slag metallurgy

In the low salt process, dross can be smelted with so called dry slag, and contaminated or thin-walled scrap can be productively recycled using fluid slag. Being a fully automated recycling solution, it is ideal for reproducible batches and also for contaminated source materials.

4TR12 12,0-25,0 2,5-4,0 5,6-7,0 4,5-5,5 15-25

applies to oxy-fuel burner, with gas/air burners the values are app. 40% lower

Specifications:

  • Models 2TR5, 3TR9 and 4TR12
  • Hydraulic tiltable RTF in a solid base frame
  • Horizontal furnace chamber tiltable from -8° to +25°
  • Mobile charging system with rotating hopper, therefore quiet and high charging speed independent of scrap‘s physical characteristics
  • For the processing of all aluminium scrap, even if contaminated, as well as dross
  • Combustion in a modern energy conserving counter flow principle or direct current process

Operating mode:

  • Automatic extremely fast charging
  • Smouldering and burning of organic materials If required injection of oxygen to achieve complete combustion of hydrocarbons
  • Minimal oxygen concentration in furnace chamber during smelting
  • Minimal oxygen concentration reduces losses caused by oxidation
  • Metal discharge either by bottom tapping or through charged opening
  • Discharge of dross either through the charged opening or dross notch in the furnace shell

Advantages:

  • Large furnace volume helps with afterburning of hydrocarbons in the furnace chamber
  • Highly contaminated batches become processable
  • Additional energy generation through afterburning of the hydrocarbons directly in the furnace
  • Consistently high output with sub-standard scrap
  • High productivity due to extremely short charging times, made possible by exclusive charging device developed by KMF, Austria
  • Controlled furnace atmosphere
  • Controlled furnace atmosphere enables high yield even with limited use of salt
  • Conversion possible at any time from low salt (e.g. dross and scrap with iron inserts) to salt rich operation (e.g. thin wall and coated scrap) to achieve best possible yield
  • Smelting without the use of salt is possible under specific conditions
  • Process safeguards using Program Logic Controls (PLC)
  • Permanent process monitoring
  • Display of all parameters (weight, pressure, temperature, CO concentration, energy consumption)
  • Visual representation of operating data
  • Variable controllable rotation of the converter during the entire process
  • Emission friendly after burning of hydrocarbons in the furnace chamber
  • Limited energy consumption and toxic emissions as a result of counter current operation of the combustion gases
  • A permanent, controllable over pressure in the furnace chamber prevents unwanted entry of air
  • Energy conservation through state of the art burner technology
  • Use of proven and highly durable refractories
  • High plant and operating reliability through innovative engineering
  • Easy handling because of automated workflows
